| Spring has sprung! It feels like this year is flying by already—wasn't it just January? I didn't grow up with seasons; I come from Florida, by way of an island, where it was always hot and hotter, with a bit of rain mixed in for good measure. Suffice to say, I love feeling and experiencing the seasons shifting, and I have always found winter moving into spring particularly intriguing.
There's something about the dormant coming to life. The possibilities to bloom and flourish are endless. May this new season be one of growth for you—I hope all the change is refreshing.
As your new(ish) Digital Beauty Director, I wanted the opportunity to connect with you in a more personal way. With the start of a new season, here is something fresh: a monthly newsletter highlighting a few of my favorite things, the latest beauty drops, my monthly musings, and good reads you (really) don't want to miss. Sending good vibes your way, this season and beyond. |

There's no denying that skin is in—but the quest for a luminous complexion often leads to your acne or fine lines being on full display. The "no makeup makeup" trend may be slowing down, but I'm noticing a rise in skincare-infused makeup products. Gucci hit the mark with its Eternité de Beauté foundation, which features hyaluronic acid and black rose oil to lock in moisture and smooth the texture of your skin. Luminous, barely-there looks via foundation can feel less carefree and more like a war on mature or acne-prone skin. I swear by this foundation—it's all I'm talking about in the office. | I've been wearing a cat eye since I was 16. It's my signature beauty look, and my face feels bare without that ever so satisfying swoop at the corner of my eye. That being said, I'm always on the hunt for a good liquid liner that lasts. Enter: Danessa Myricks. While she may be known as the pigment queen, her new eyeliner, Linework Paintbrush Waterproof Liquid Liner, is truly in a class of its own. The precision of the tip makes creating a winged eye super easy (yes, even for beginners), and, at $18, it's more affordable and a better formula than more expensive options. It's truly smudge-proof and long-lasting—it doesn't fade over the course of the day and I have to double cleanse to get it off. It's a clean formula, meaning it's free of parabens, formaldehydes, formaldehyde-releasing agents, phthalates, mineral oil, retinyl palmitate, sulfates SLS & SLES—to name several, which is a relief to me since the product is so close to my eye. |

Dior launched a new fragrance, Gris Dior, which smells good on everybody. Gris Dior, with "gris" meaning "gray" in English, was the perfect name for this fresh fragrance. When I first smelled Gris Dior, it hit my olfactory senses in the most pleasant of ways. I instantly sprayed more on my body, falling in love with the powdery aroma, while simultaneously imagining how good it would smell on a man. One unique quality is that Dior created a floral, rose scent that men can wear. The oakmoss, patchouli, and sandalwood balance out the rose aroma and citrusy smell from the bergamot, creating a classic chypre fragrance that plays upon the dichotomy of male and female. Get yourself a scent that can do both (this is it). Still curious? Read my full review here. |

| There isn't a Pat McGrath product that I don't love, and her new Divine Bronzer is no exception. One swipe onto your cheekbones and you'll look like you just returned from a Caribbean vacation (maybe to my home country of Trinidad and Tobago?). |

Glossier first spilled the details regarding its expansion from minimalistic, natural makeup by introducing an opaque lipstick in nine bold colors. G Suit is a demi-matte cremé formula that hugs your lips, delivering a pigmented punch in one swipe. The texture and look of the lipstick is inspired by the soft-touch silicone material used in phone cases. Whether you want a bold lip or more of a blurred, diffused look, this lipstick can achieve both. I can't stop wearing Pilot, Glossier's exclusive pink, and Jet, its blue-red hue that's the best thing since MAC's Ruby Woo. Click here to see it on ELLE editors. |
