The stars turned the red carpet into a runway at Sunday night's Emmy Awards, from Jenna Ortega in her bejeweled Givenchy ensemble to Lisa's ribbon-covered dress by Lever Couture. Then inside the ceremony, we finally saw which of our favorite shows reigned supreme. After a tight Best Drama race between The Pitt and Severance, the HBO Max medical series came out on top, thanks in part to its ER roots and great performances by stars Noah Wyle and Katherine LaNasa, who both also won Emmys. Severance didn't go empty-handed though, with Britt Lower and Tramell Tillman also earning well-deserved trophies. The comedy and limited series categories had clearer winners: The Studio and Adolescence, respectively. Seth Rogen went from "never [winning] anything in my life" to sweeping the ceremony with his hilarious Hollywood satire (and not a single person thanked Sal Saperstein!).
One thing we can all agree on? The Gilmore Girls reunion was one of the best parts of the show. Below, catch up on the Emmy winners, the best-dressed attendees, and more. —Erica Gonzales, deputy editor, culture |
