Taylor Swift knows how to keep her name in the headlines. As she beckons in yet another era—her next album, The Life of a Showgirl, drops October 3—she announced last week that a major "theatrical event" will accompany the music. The Official Release Party of a Showgirl will hit cinemas from October 3 through October 5 and will feature the exclusive world premiere of Swift's music video for her upcoming single, "The Fate of Ophelia." (If you're hoping to snag one of the limited number of tickets available, we're here to help.) And speaking of Swift, Prime Video's The Summer I Turned Pretty—which featured a truly astounding number of Swift hits in its third and final season—is also getting a movie! Maybe Jenny Han can sneak a few Life of a Showgirl tracks into the feature film. Elsewhere, we're reading the buzzy new romance novel from fashion writer Erika Veurink; relishing the best films of festival season; and celebrating the return of the unhinged delight that is The Morning Show.
The Long Live Substack writer is out with her debut romance novel, Exit Lane, this fall. It's only one piece of the storytelling "universe" she wants to build.
