| Erica Gonzales, deputy editor, digital content: The new year has just begun and it's already impossible to keep up with the pop culture calendar. The past few days alone saw the returns of The Pitt, The Traitors, and Industry; plus the new Netflix thriller His & Hers and Emily Henry rom-com People We Meet on Vacation; AND the Golden Globes. (I'm out of breath just thinking about it.) But the Globes last night felt like a welcome return to the major awards circuit, with host Nikki Glaser playfully jabbing the nominees and Seth Rogen basically seeing an episode of The Studio come to life. Many of the winners were expected, like Timothée Chalamet, One Battle After Another, and Adolescence; but I was also glad to see trophies go to Rhea Seehorn (for Best Actress in a TV Drama), Wagner Moura (for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama), and Hamnet (for Best Picture – Drama). Teyana Taylor's tearful speech and Chloé Zhao's completely stunned reaction were highlights, too. Winning moments aside, we reveled in any interaction between the Heated Rivalry boys, Chalamet and Kylie Jenner, and Leonardo DiCaprio and whoever he's talking to in this clip. (Any lip-readers want to give us a tip?) Check out our favorite looks from the red carpet above, and keep scrolling for more recommendations for the week ahead.

If you haven't watched the Paul Thomas Anderson film yet, now's the time. OBAA dominated the Golden Globes with four wins (Best Picture – Drama), Best Screenplay, Best Director, and Best Supporting Actress for Teyana Taylor), solidifying its place as an Oscar front-runner.—EG |

As ELLE contributor Michel Ghanem wrote in last night's recap, "One of the best and most underrated shows on television is back." I am personally hoping that we, as a society, are ready to give the HBO financial drama the acclaim it deserves. Industry pivots into a new direction, and welcomes a handful of new characters in its searing fourth season. Harper is now the head of a high-profile asset firm, with a sickening office wardrobe to boot; Yasmin is planning her wedding and scheming; and Eric is back in the game to reunite with his former protégé. Max Minghella is a great addition as Whitney Halberstram, a suave but ruthless fintech CEO with ambitions to turn his company into a "bank killer." I'm so seated.—EG |

Netflix's long-awaited adaptation of People We Meet on Vacation finally arrived this weekend, marking the first of many entries in the Emily Henry Cinematic Universe. But how does it stack up to the original story? ELLE contributor Keely Weiss, who has watched the film and read the book, reassures fans, "Every ounce of the book's effervescent spirit is on that screen. Stars Emily Bader and Tom Blyth inhabit the characters of Poppy and Alex so seamlessly…and the entire viewing experience feels like a big, cozy hug from someone you love." Still, some changes were made to adapt the novel for film. If you want to go deeper into Alex and Poppy's love story, it's time to dive into the book.—EG |

WHAT YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO: |
On the first single for his highly anticipated album Don't Be Dumb, A$AP switches things up. "Punk Rocky" has the hazy vibe of some of the rapper's earlier work, but is more melodic and even a little psychedelic. The best part? Winona Ryder stars in the music video. Revisit our cover story from the newly-minted girl dad below.—EG |

Rose Byrne earned a Golden Globe for her performance in If I Had Legs, I'd Kick You, but she deserves a separate award for making the best shout-out in her acceptance speech. Who knew that she and Cannavale had a soft spot for lizards? And who knew that reptile expos existed? Not me! I envy the animal lovers who happened upon Cannavale at Repticon this weekend (which is believed to be the event he attended). I want a bearded dragon reveal and hard launch stat.—EG |
