"Yearning has a sound," my ELLE colleague Nerisha Penrose writes in her new story on British singer-songwriter Sienna Spiro, part of our 2026 Women in Music portfolio. "It's spellbinding and brooding—intimate yet unguarded, lovelorn laments you'd normally bury deep in the pages of a diary but secretly hope someone will hear." We're seeing a return to capital-V vocals in the music world, with artists like Spiro and our recent ELLE cover stars Raye and Olivia Dean, and I personally couldn't be happier to hear it.
